A Message from the Club President

Life is too short a period to contribute towards the good of the Community. Half of its time is wasted tending to the needs which can be avoided if realistically assessed vis-à-vis the question, “Do we really need them”? This cycle is fate oriented toying with our destiny. It takes us to the darkest fissures and also offers choices to come out of it, if only we could heed them. But inspite of our power of reasoning, more than often, we have picked the wrong option so the cycle continues uninterrupted. And least we realize that life we are born into is not necessarily our destiny. We need to rewrite our story, recast ourselves into the new mould. But first we must decide what we want to be and then launch ourselves.

Amidst the myriad intricate choices Rotary offers the right option of personal enrichment through the mode of serving others. Enrichment of the self by enriching the life of others. Mighty Empires have fallen, the systems have collapsed but Rotary has not only held its ground for 104 years but is well set to take the new century by storm. Its survival is not a mystery or a freak of nature but a result of conscious endurance of Rotarians who, in their individual and collective wisdom, picked the right option to serve, evolve and survive. Only the Rotary ideal of service has the creative answers to insurmountable problems troubling the world today. Rotary, indeed creates destiny and offers a way out.
